Siemens PLM License Server 8.2

Siemens PLM License Server, developed by Siemens Product Lifecycle Management Software Inc., is a centralized license management service for Siemens engineering and PLM applications such as NX, Teamcenter, and Tecnomatix. Built on FlexNet Publisher technology, it provisions and enforces floating (concurrent) and node-locked licenses, running as a background service on Windows and Linux. Administrators can configure availability, reservations, and timeouts via options files, enable license borrowing for offline use, and deploy redundant triad servers for high availability. Client machines are pointed to the server (for example, port@hostname) via an environment variable or license file, and usage can be monitored with standard FlexNet tools like lmstat, lmutil, and LMTOOLS. The result is streamlined compliance, improved license utilization, and reduced downtime across distributed teams.
